Prosper Waco was in the news yet again! So much has been going on with the Prosper Waco initiative, and we are excited the working groups are meeting and well on their way to creating strategies to reach the goals established by the steering committees.
The Waco Tribune-Herald wrote an article highlighting the discussions that occurred in the Income and Employment working groups on July 29th. The Employment working group is focused on increasing employment for Waco residents ages 16-24. The Income working group is collectively discussing strategies to increase not only median income of full-time workers but also median household income. The third goal the Income working group is creating strategies to achieve is decreasing the number of Waco-area residents with incomes below fifty percent of the federal poverty level by 10 percentage points.
