Waco Housing Authority & Affiliates

Waco Housing Authority operates the Public Housing Rental Assistance program and is responsible for intake of public housing clients and all of the activities related to the managing of three housing developments: Kate Ross Homes, Estella Maxey Place, and South Terrace Apartments. Rent is 30% of adjusted monthly income, with a minimum rent amount of $50. The Community Services Department offers an array of support services free to all residents: adult education, transportation, youth recreation program, senior coordinator, home ownership programs, counseling programs, and resident councils.
Through the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program, Waco Housing Authority & Affiliates assists families with their rent by providing subsidy payments directly to the landlord. After a family has been determined eligible for assistance and reaches the top of the Housing Authority’s waiting list, they are offered a voucher. Upon receipt of the voucher, the family may seek housing of their choice.
