The Waco Trib’s Bill Whitaker sat down with John Kinnaird, vice president and trust officer for Community Bank & Trust, to talk about the upcoming election, his involvement in Prosper Waco and issues surrounding payday lending.
Kinnaird has served on the Waco City Council representing District 3 for the past four years and faces his first competitive election on May 7.
Kinnaird is involved in Prosper Waco through work his with the Community Loan Center to find an alternative to payday lenders and through improving financial literacy with local banks and financial institutions.
Within his specific district, issues include traffic, infrastructure, streets and development because the area encompasses both Valley Mills Drive and Hewitt Drive. Kinnaird hopes to widen several roads, see through ongoing water and sewer projects as well as continue the development in the area in a sustainable and practical way.
