Join the Conversation: Hunger-Free Community Coalition

Ensuring every neighbor in our community has access to nutritious food takes all of us working together.

In partnership with the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, Prosper Waco invites you to join our next Hunger-Free Community Coalition meeting on Thursday, March 26 at 3 p.m.

This isn’t just another meeting. From 2023 to 2025, McLennan County saw a 28% decrease in summer meals served to children. At a time when food insecurity is rising, fewer kids are accessing one of the most reliable nutrition resources available during the summer months.

We know what works and we know this trend can be reversed. But it will take coordinated, community-wide action.

This convening is an opportunity to:

  • Share what we’re seeing on the ground—what’s working and where gaps remain

  • Identify barriers that are keeping children and families from accessing summer meals

  • Collaborate on practical, high-impact strategies to increase awareness and participation this summer

Whether you’re a longtime partner or newly engaged or interested in this work, your voice and perspective matter. Together, we can change the trajectory and ensure more children have access to the meals they need this summer.

Join us March 26 at 3 p.m. at the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty (801 Washington Avenue). RSVP here.
